The clinic is unable to offer syphilis treatment and hepatitis vaccinations on Wednesday 17 September.
Given the increased volume of patients during Friday evening Clinics (4 pm to 7 pm) symptomatic, follow-up and patients requiring treatment will be given priority. The Clinic may not be able to offer routine testing during these hours.
We are seeing an increased incidence of syphilis among our clients. We encourage people living with HIV to speak with their primary care physician about syphilis screening during their routine visits.
Provincial data are showing an increase in Hepatitis C in some parts of gay and MSM communities, especially those who engage in rough play, i.e. S&M activities, fisting, etc. We encourage people who may be at risk to be screened for Hepatitis C by their health care providers.
